What Is Face and Neck Lifting?

During the initial consultation, discuss your overall aesthetic goals for the procedure. Dr. Segovia will go over your medical history, including current medications, past medical treatments, and previous surgeries.

The Face and Neck Lift Procedure

Even though the technique is the same, each case needs to be studied separately. The surgeon will make incisions both in front of and behind the ear; they will be pulled back (depending on each case). After some time, these incisions might disappear. The skin will be lifted, stretched, and the surplus skin removed.

 

Face deep tissue and muscles are elevated; this will give a long-lasting and more natural-looking result. Neck liposuction and other procedures may be done together. Dr. Segovia will close the tiny incisions with skin glue, removable stitches, or dissolvable stitches.

Sedation and local anesthesia are used, although general anesthesia can be used as well.

The Face and Neck Lifting Recovery Process

After the face and neck lifting surgery, you will be taken to a recovery room for monitoring. It often takes a few hours for you to wake up and become stable. The incisions will be bandaged to reduce bruising and swelling, and tiny drainage tubes may be placed. It is best to stay in a hospital to prevent hematomas.

Follow Dr. Segovia’s post-procedure instructions. Take pain medications as instructed. Elevate your head at all times, and apply cold compresses as directed. There might be bruising, which will last for around five to seven days. It is very important to stop smoking 20 to 30 days prior to surgery to prevent complications such as scarring trouble or skin necrosis.

After all swelling has reduced and recovery is complete, you will be able to see the full results of your face and neck lift. Given its excellent results, this is one of the most popular procedures.

Am I a Candidate for a Facelift or Neck lift?

Both men and women can be good candidates for a facelift and/or neck lift. Since this method of facial rejuvenation requires surgery, candidates must be in good health and free of any conditions that interfere with the body’s ability to heal.

Candidates must be willing to follow all pre-and post-treatment instructions provided by Dr. Segovia. It is also important that candidates have realistic expectations for the results of their facelift and/or neck lift.

Patients affected by moderate to severe skin laxity and/or sagging in the face or neck are typically the best candidates for surgical lifts in these areas. Younger patients with mild wrinkles and/or early signs of aging can often achieve their facial rejuvenation goals with less invasive cosmetic treatments.
